The Slessarev Lab studies soil and its role in terrestrial ecosystems. Our work is guided by two major objectives: (1) understanding how soil properties develop in different ecological contexts across scales; and (2) understanding how the soil geochemical environment influences carbon and nutrient cycling. In addition to these fundamental objectives, the lab researches soil-based climate change mitigation.
